HOT SURFACE
IGNITERS
DC
and D Series
The Surfaceigniter DC and D families
of hot surface igniters combine our traditional "shockmount" design
and a new two-piece igniter and base clip offering
the dryer manufacturer a wide range of possibilities.
Our DC family of igniters incorporates the proven reliability
of our "shockmount" design found in millions
of dryers and heating applications. Utilizing flexible
steel mounting brackets, the DC "shockmount" family
adds stability and strength to the igniter in dryer
applications where shock and vibration are a definite
concern. Several styles of the DC "shockmount" are
available and mount to many traditional burner assemblies
commonly used today.
Our newest design for dryer applications, the "D" part,
includes a clip and igniter assembly that allows the
igniter to "snap" into place. The clip
(made of flexible stainless steel) and ceramic base
are designed to fit to most traditional burner assemblies.
This makes the D bracket not only a logical choice
from a design standpoint, but also an economical one
when compared to competitive igniters.
Both the D and DC family are manufactured using the
same high quality silicon carbide elements as our other
igniters. Increased life results from our unique reaction
bonding process, which produces a higher density silicon
carbide. This higher density reduces internal oxidation
a cause of igniter aging and failure. Our manufacturing
process and efficient double helix design enable the
Surfaceigniter's to draw less current thereby operating
at lower temperatures and lasting longer than competitive
dryer igniters.

DC and D Series
As with all of
our products, many off-the-shelf dryer igniters are
available for your application. To further meet your
needs, wire lead types, lengths, and terminations
can also be specified if our standard igniters do
not provide the right combination for you.
Whatever the case, Surfaceigniter has the
right igniter for your application. Ask your Surfaceigniter
salesman today to see one of our many DC or D dryer igniters.
