 RA and RS Series
The Surfaceigniter RA/RS family of hot surface igniters requires no introduction. Long established as a standard igniter by range manufacturers, the RS style igniter has gone into millions of ovens produced by many of the major appliance manufacturers. Today the RS family of Surfaceigniter continues to be the preferred choice of appliance OEMs for the safe and reliable ignition of gas in oven applications.
The 2.5-3.0 amp range for the RS/RA family enables the Surfaceigniter spiral igniter to operate at lower temperatures than competitive range igniters. This lower operating temperature is important when considering the life of an igniter, particularly in continuous duty applications such as residential ovens. The shield material and wire leads on the RS/RA igniters are all made from high heat resistant materials and are designed to withstand the temperatures inside an oven. The RS igniter incorporates an Inconel shield, whereas the RA igniter uses high temperature stainless steel. Both are used in bake and pyrolytic applications.
The RA/RS family of igniters is designed to be used with the Eaton/Siebe 1400 series gas valve.
Made of high quality silicon carbide, the increased life and strength of our NR igniters is the result of our unique reaction bonding process, which produces a higher density silicon carbide. This higher density reduces the extent of internal oxidation - a cause of igniter aging and failure. |
Our manufacturing process and efficient double helix design enable the Surfaceigniters to operate at lower temperatures thereby enhancing the life of the igniter as compared to competitive oven igniters.
As with all of our products, wire lead types, lengths, and terminations can also be specified if our standard igniters do not provide the right combination for your application.
